Δήλωση Καλλιτέχνη
Η ζωγραφική είναι μια αυθόρμητη ανάγκη.
Ήρθε φυσικά, χωρίς σκέψη ή στόχο, ως προσωπικό καταφύγιο, ως θεραπευτικό μέσο.
Τα έργα δεν ξεκινούν ποτέ με πλάνο. Εμφανίζονται όπως τα συναισθήματα, ανεξέλεγκτα και ορμητικά.
Εμπνέομαι από όσα κουβαλώ: την αγάπη, την απώλεια, τα πρόσωπα που με σημάδεψαν, τις σιωπές και τις εκρήξεις της δικής μου διαδρομής.
Δουλεύω σχεδόν πάντα σε χαρτί πολλών γραμμαρίων, υλικά που μπορώ να έχω μαζί μου παντού, ώστε να ζωγραφίζω όποτε νοιώθω την ανάγκη.
Κάποια έργα, φωτογραφίζονται και επεξεργάζονται ψηφιακά, με πιο καθαρό και έντονο χρώμα ή σκιά.
Η δημιουργική διαδικασία είναι πρωτίστως εσωτερική.
Δεν με καθοδηγεί η πρόθεση να αγγίξω τον θεατή, όμως ελπίζω ότι όσοι συναντούν τα έργα μου μπορεί να αναγνωρίσουν κάποιο δικό τους κομμάτι.
Με συγκινούν βαθιά ο σουρεαλισμός και ο εξπρεσιονισμός, καλλιτέχνες όπως ο Dali, ο Magritte, ο Braque, ο Man Ray, ο Picasso, καθώς κατάφεραν να μετατρέψουν το υποσυνείδητο και το ονειρικό με μεγάλη ένταση σε εικόνες.
Artist Statement
Painting is a spontaneous necessity.
It came naturally, without thought or intention, as a personal refuge and a therapeutic tool.
My works never begin with a plan. They emerge like emotions, uncontrolled and impetuous.
I draw inspiration from what I carry within me: love, loss, the people who have left their mark on me, the silences and eruptions of my own journey.
I almost always work on heavy-weight paper, using materials I can carry anywhere, so I can paint whenever I feel the need.
Some works are photographed and digitally processed, enhancing color and shadow for a clearer, more intense expression.
The creative process is primarily internal.
I am not guided by the intention to move the viewer, yet I hope that those who encounter my works may recognize a part of themselves in them.
I am deeply moved by Surrealism and Expressionism, and by artists such as Dali, Magritte, Braque, Man Ray and Picasso, who succeeded in transforming the subconscious and the dreamlike with great intensity into images.
